An Adrenaline-fueled Sports Day 2025!

QEH Sports Day 2025 was full of energy and school spirit, with students, staff, and families coming together despite the drizzle. From exciting races to a tasty BBQ, it was a great celebration of the school year—topped off by Bird House winning the H.P. Stoate Cup.

Despite the drizzle, QEH Sports Day 2025 proved to be another resounding success, bringing together pupils, staff, and families in a true celebration of sport and school spirit. The QEH community gathered with enthusiasm to support a packed schedule of track and field events, with Holroyd House providing a delicious BBQ that offered a welcome opportunity to reflect on what has been a fantastic school year so far.

The events ran seamlessly throughout the day, showcasing both talent and teamwork. In the end, it was Bird House who claimed the prestigious H.P. Stoate Cup for overall champion House. They were followed closely by Hartnell in second place, Ramsey in third, and Carr in fourth. All Houses displayed great camaraderie and sportsmanship, making for an enjoyable and spirited competition.

Notable Performances

There were several standout moments across the day, Lily B set a new Senior Girls’ High Jump record with a leap of 1.38 metres. Rufus W (Year 8) matched the U13 High Jump record of 1.50 metres, originally set in 1996, and Megan R produced an impressive performance in the Senior Girls’ Shot Put, winning with a distance of 7.72 metres—a remarkable feat given the wet conditions.

We were honoured to welcome back our 1590 Society members for an evening celebrating their exceptional support. Their generosity is helping to fund transformational bursaries, providing life-changing educational opportunities to students who may not have otherwise had access to a QEH education.

QEH provides a safe, nurturing environment where each pupil is treated as an individual.  The results are confident young men who truly believe in themselves.  Freddie now has a passion for learning and the confidence to apply it which is due to the school, its understanding of boys and its fantastic staff.
