As well as being Head of Religion and Philosophy, Zak leads our digital vision. He was instrumental in developing our excellent online learning offering during lockdown, much to the relief of our parents, and is now leading the roll out of our school device programme.
In early May, after a two year hiatus, a group Year 9 pupils and four members of staff took their first trip to the Battlefields in Belgium and France.
Whilst there, they visited important sites from both the world wars, including cemeteries such as Tyne Cot, Langemark and Delville Wood, trench systems and V2 bunkers. They also visited numerous museums around Ypres and a chocolate shop!
A particular highlight was the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate which they attended on Sunday 8 May (VE Day). Three students from Year 9, Christopher, Sam and Finn, presented a wreath on behalf of the school, and Finn was even selected to read The Exhortation in front of the crowd.
