Black History is British History and British History is Black History

As well as being Head of Religion and Philosophy, Zak leads our digital vision. He was instrumental in developing our excellent online learning offering during lockdown, much to the relief of our parents, and is now leading the roll out of our school device programme.

To mark the start of Black History Month, Head of History, Lottie Coleman has created a short video to share with QEH pupils at their assemblies during October.

In the video, Miss Coleman makes the important point that Black History is British History and British History is Black History. Indeed, she points out that there is historical evidence that black Britons predate the arrival of Anglo Saxons from northern Europe, the people who would go on to become ‘English’. Miss Coleman’s fascinating glimpse into this important topic can be seen below.

QEH pupils enjoyed an unforgettable cricket tour in Cape Town, competing fiercely, exploring iconic sights, and spotting wildlife at Aquila.

Duke of Edinburgh Award students give back

We always enjoy welcoming students back to QEH but this year it feels particularly special.  A special welcome to all our new pupils, including our Year 7 group who posed for the traditional photo on the school steps this morning.

Back to School

This is a really welcoming school.  All the teachers make me feel good about myself and the older pupils are really nice as well.
