While virtual performances kept us enthralled during lockdown, it was a joy to hear live music in the QEH Theatre again today.

Year 8 musicians were the curtain raisers for this year’s House Music Soloists competition. They performed in front of their peer group bubble, never an easy thing to do, but their accomplished playing showed no sign of nerves. Bravo to all!

With over half of QEH pupils having instrumental or singing lessons, there is no shortage of talent in the school. The House Music competition will see musicians from all year groups performing in the Theatre each week until mid November. This year, virtual performances will also be included in the competition.

Finalists will be invited to play in the Musician of the Year concert in January.

QEH’s annual Lizzies Awards celebrated pupil creativity with an inspiring showcase of short films based on the themes ‘Three Wishes’ and ‘Myths’.

QEH’s first ever Yardstock Festival — a brand-new celebration of live music right in the heart of school.

Live theatre is here to stay at QEH, as pupils from Years 3 and 4 put on an incredible production of Jack and the Beanstalk last week in our theatre.

Our son is engaged and cheerful, getting on with the tasks which are diverse, interesting and meaningful for him.  It’s a big enough workload to keep him busy but not to overwhelm.
Thank you so much for all you are doing.
