In accordance with the redesign of the School Council last year, our vision is to give pupils the opportunity to gain responsibility and have more of a presence and a voice in decision making.

The School Council provides a forum for pupils from all year groups in which they can be heard, and are able to see change as a result of their suggestions. We hope that this will help to create a strong sense of ownership and belonging within our school community.

Recently, the newly elected Year 7 School Council members (pictured above) had their first meeting of the year. These boys have selected to represent Year 7 in the following key areas:

  1. Academic, co-curricular and community
  2. School facilities and environment
  3. Mental health and wellbeing, equity, diversity and inclusion

The boys came full of great ideas and suggestions on behalf of their year group, and we look forward to them playing a proactive role in the life of the school this year. Well done all!

The Council representatives from the other Year groups will be meeting over the coming weeks.

QEH pupils enjoyed an unforgettable cricket tour in Cape Town, competing fiercely, exploring iconic sights, and spotting wildlife at Aquila.

Our pupils have excelled in this year’s national Intermediate Maths Challenge.

As well as being Head of Religion and Philosophy, Zak leads our digital vision. He was instrumental in developing our excellent online learning offering during lockdown, much to the relief of our parents, and is now leading the roll out of our school device programme.

Year 9 rise to the Challenge

On Monday, Year 7 were finally able to go on their long awaited trip to Margam Park!

Year 7 at Margam Park

We just wanted to write and say how genuinely delighted we are having moved our son to QEH. We have been so impressed by everything he has done and how everyone has been so interested and kind - all boys and teachers! It’s hard to describe to people what we like about it so much but in comparison to other schools it just has that something extra - almost like a sparkle! It’s a shame we can’t send our daughter just yet!
