Sixth Form Admissions
Each year our outstanding co-educational Sixth Form welcomes students, female and male, from across the region.
Annually in October we hold our Sixth Form Open Evening, this event is a great opportunity for families to learn more about the Sixth Form offering at QEH, the huge breadth of subjects offered and the excellent co-curricular provision. We also offer regular Sixth Form taster mornings in November and December each year.
If you have missed our Open Evening, we would be delighted to arrange a personal visit for you. To arrange a visit, or for more information on our Sixth Form admissions, please contact our admissions team on 0117 930 3068 or by email on admissions@qehbristol.co.uk.
Entrance Criteria
Each applicant is considered individually. Should any offer be made, it will be conditional upon achieving a minimum of six grade 6’s at GCSE with a grade 7 in subjects to be continued to A Level. If a scholarship is to be awarded, a grade 8 will need to be achieved in that subject.
Should a student wish to take a subject which has not been offered at GCSE, for example psychology, they will be required to attain grade 7 in related subjects. Should this be a scholarship subject, a grade 8 will be required in a related subject. For more information on our Sixth Form scholarships, please visit our scholarships page.
Entry into QEH Sixth Form
To make an application to our Sixth Form please complete our on-line registration form prior to the respective deadlines for each year group (see our key dates). Alongside the registration form, at the same time, the £75.00 non-refundable registration payment would be needed and also a copy of a recent school report.
All applicants will be interviewed by a member of our Senior staff. If a scholarship is being applied for, a member of our Senior staff together with the Head of Department in the scholarship subject, will conduct the interviews.
