QEH is single sex boys only from Year 3 to Year 11 with a thriving co-educational Sixth Form.
What does the QEH stand for?
QEH stands for Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital.
What is the history of QEH School Bristol?
Founded in 1590 following a bequest by Bristol merchant John Carr, QEH was established to educate poor children and orphans, a mission formalised by a Charter from Queen Elizabeth I. Originally a boarding school, it began admitting day pupils in 1920 and became independent in 1975 after the end of the direct grant scheme. Queen Elizabeth II became Patron in 1984, and the school celebrated its 400th anniversary in 1990 with a visit from The Princess Royal and the opening of the QEH Theatre.

Is QEH Bristol a boarding school?
QEH is no longer a boarding school. The last boarder to attend was in 2008. QEH is now a thriving day school.
