The Royal Family is fundamental to the very creation of QEH. The granting of the Charter by Queen Elizabeth I with its Royal Seal in 1590 was instrumental in the setting up of the school. The annual Charter Day is still marked at QEH today to recognise the founding of the school and proud links with the Royal Family.

Royal links were further enhanced when in 1984 the school was honoured when Queen Elizabeth II agreed to become the school’s Patron.

QEH will be honouring her in various ways over the coming days.
