House Music Finals

From outstanding performances to intense rivalry, this unforgettable evening celebrated the exceptional standard of music at QEH.

The night was filled with passion, energy, and incredible talent as the Senior School gathered at QEH for one of the most anticipated events of the year: the House Music Competition. From outstanding performances to intense rivalry, this unforgettable evening celebrated the power of music and the spirit of competition, leaving both participants and spectators in awe.

The competition in the ensemble category was nothing short of fierce. Each group brought their A-game, delivering captivating performances that had the audience on the edge of their seats. But in the end, it was Ramsey who took home the coveted ensemble trophy. Their victory was all the more impressive considering the challenges they faced leading up to the performance. With their lead singer, Kit, only having learned the song earlier that very day due to illness within the band, Ramsey demonstrated extraordinary resilience and talent. Kit’s ability to rise to the occasion, alongside the unwavering support of the entire group, made for a truly memorable performance.

In the choir category, Hartnell wowed the crowd with a flawless performance that combined not only musical precision but also impressive choreography. The choir’s meticulous preparation paid off as they delivered a performance that was both moving and visually captivating. Their dedication to excellence was clear, and the audience couldn’t help but cheer as Hartnell claimed their well-deserved victory. Their performance will surely be remembered as one of the highlights of the evening.

As the evening unfolded and the scores were tallied, Bird emerged as the star of the night. The House claimed the prestigious House Music Cup, a remarkable achievement that showcased their collective talent and unwavering determination. But Bird’s triumph didn’t end there. In a feat that stunned the audience, they also secured the Arts Cup, completing a spectacular double win that was nothing short of extraordinary.

For Bird, this evening was a testament to their dedication and teamwork, and it was clear that every member had given their all. The energy in the room as they celebrated their victories was electric, and their success was a true reflection of the power of creativity and collaboration.

This event was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the talent that thrives within the Senior School community. Every performer, whether they were part of a choir, an ensemble, or any other category, contributed to making the night unforgettable. Their commitment to excellence, combined with the support of their Heads of House, teachers, and the entire school community, made this event a true highlight of the school year.

As the night came to a close, there was a palpable sense of pride and excitement in the air. The House Music Competition was a spectacular showcase of what can be achieved when pupils work together with passion, creativity, and dedication, showing too that Music at QEH brings the whole school community together.

We can only imagine what next year’s competition will hold. Will Ramsey defend their ensemble title? Will Hartnell continue their success in the choir category? And will Bird maintain their winning streak?
